Sandy Walkies & 101 Varieties of Tea

Maridel came to visit! A true globetrotter who hails from Spain, with whom I backpacked SW China, who studied in London, who worked and ran with the harriers in Ethiopia, and who is now based in Hanoi doing hard work for the World Bank.

It was refreshing to catch up with her again after 6 years. She met Kait for the first time, and quickly became the little one's newest best friend. We visited the horses at Gallop Stable, cycled all the way to Loyang and back, did the playground bongo with Kait, and wandered along the beach till late afternoon when we had to leave to meet the folks at Shangri La's Rose Verandah for my chosen birthday high tea. Sashimi, Roast Prime Rib, Scones, Luscious Chocolate Squares, and 101 Types of Teas. There's a picture of the little princess and her grand people.

I think one thing I miss from my previous lifetime was the time, freedom, and company to roam like this. My treks are now short, scheduled around meal/nap times, and accompanied by a bag of baby things. Thing is though the spanner in the works is a real sweetpea, and her daddy is actually a secret superhero (shhh, don't tell!)
