Kait's First Day at PlayGroup

If I had the choice I'd delay Kait's entry into a pre-nursery playgroup. One reason is that she gets less individual attention to details that I'm particular about such as wholefoods and potty training; the other is that she gets exposed to the whole gamut of bugs and viruses that any of the the other kids may have. First day yesterday and she brought back a hacking cough that brought up her breakfast this morning - poor baby!

But we don't really have much of a choice right now, really. Easter weekend wasn't quite the swaying palms and peaceful rest that we were hoping for! Kait's nanny (Mama Khairia) was suddenly ill with a cyst and possibly twisted ovary and warded for observation. Silly doctors at KKH wanted to wheel her right into the operation theatre and cut her up the moment she got in. Luckily she still had her wits about her and insisted on being placed under observation; she's stabilised, the pain has gone away, and she's back home now and resting - no operation, thank you.

Anyhow, these are a couple of pictures I took for posterity - Kait's first day at playgroup. You can see the apprehension on her face when we arrived! When I brought her in for the second day this morning, I had another chat with the teacher in charge, a Ms. Lata who said that Kait keeps to herself still and needs more time to warm up to the rest of the group; and then she also told me that most of the kids in the group are ill - NOW she tells me!

Kait looked so adorable in the little pink dress and yet so vulnerable, clutching onto her toy...made me wanna just rush over and give her a big reassuring hug...*maternal instinct*!!

Dont worry abt the falling sick part...i guess that's the norm when they go to school and one day she will have to go anyway, think of it as building up her immunity! **at least no no 2 to spread to back home yet :P!**

I'm sure in no time she will mingle well with the group and enjoys herself thoroughly in school...
